JERUSALEM, Dec. 13, 2004 (PRIMEZONE) -- Identa Corp. (Pink Sheets:IDTA) participated last week in the Annual Oregon Narcotics Enforcement Association. Many hundreds of officers from Oregon and Washington states participated at this convention. Identa Corp. was represented by Mr. Ron Goldner from G-Marketing. G-Marketing is one of the companies marketing our products in the U.S.A.
The following e-mail was received from our representative at the ONEA convention.
Hi Yaacov,
I was at the ONEA (Oregon Narcotics Enforcement Association) convention and today I had a chance to do a demonstration.
I tested paper that was drenched in ecstasy (liquid!!!!!) and marijuana. Both tests performed 100%.
The main feature of our detectors as being definite (lab level), on the spot (field) was warmly appreciated by the participants.
One of the biggest concern for the professional user with the current detectors used by them (NARK) is the safety problem. With NARK or other detectors (nik, narco pouch etc.), it is always possible that the glasses from the ampoules will cut the plastic bag burning the user fingers.
This basic safety problem does not happen with our Identa - Stinger drug detectors - (we are using a durable plastic); this was very appreciated by the audience.
I was asked about the cost of the kits vs. NARK (the kit in use today in Oregon, former Sirchie, similar to NIK). My answer was that we are competitive and that we save money. Moreover, the 2 year shelve life was a very positive pitch.
I left with the officer (Lt.) in charge of narcotics in the crime division of the state police one of our suitcase with kits (20 KITS). He is going to give it to a task force, his lab people for practical observation and then we will move on to a full pilot testing.
I made connection with other departments (from Oregon and Washington states) and I will be following up on it. Some might go ahead and order without a pilot project.
All this is in Oregon, the Washington people will follow what Oregon does.
Over all it was good for us and we are moving forward.
I converted the North Miami PDF file to Power point and presented it continually. It was a very good thing as the officers were able to relate to an on the street account of using the kit. (I attached a copy for your use).
