IMS Capital Value Fund Crosses $100 Million Mark

PORTLAND, Ore., Oct. 24, 2005 (PRIMEZONE) -- IMS Capital Management announced today that its flagship no load mutual fund, IMS Capital Value Fund (Nasdaq:IMSCX), reached $100 million in assets as of the quarter ended September 30, 2005. Managed by Carl W. Marker since its inception over nine years ago, the Fund invests in "seasoned" mid cap value stocks demonstrating signs of positive momentum. The Fund achieved this milestone through a combination of positive cash flows and price appreciation.

"The Fund has produced a strong track record, yet remains relatively unknown. Crossing the $100 million mark will cause the Fund to be included in searches and lists that routinely exclude smaller funds. We see this as a positive for investors," commented the Fund's manager, Carl W. Marker.

The IMS Capital Value Fund sports a five-star Morningstar rating(tm) for 3-year performance and a four star rating for 5-year performance as well as an Overall four-star rating in the mid cap blend category. The Fund is also ranked in the 7th percentile for the 3- and 5-year periods ended September 30, 2005 out of 309 and 196 mid cap blend funds, respectively. In the last year, the Fund became available with no transaction fees on several supermarket platforms, such as Fidelity FundsNetwork(r), Schwab OneSource(r) and TDWaterhouse.

For funds with at least a 3-year history, Morningstar calculates a Morningstar Rating(tm) metric each month by subtracting the return on a 90-day U.S. T-Bill from the fund's return for the same period, and then adjusting the excess return for risk. The top 10% of funds in a category receive 5 stars, the next 22.5% receive 4 stars, the next 35% receive 3 stars, the next 22.5% receive 2 stars and the bottom 10% receive 1 star. The Overall Morningstar Rating for a fund is derived from a weighted average of the performance figures associated with its three-, five- and ten-year (if applicable) Morningstar Rating metrics.
