Baron & Budd Attorney Sherry Talton Receives 2006 State Bar of Texas Award for Best Human Interest Story


DALLAS, June 15, 2006 (PRIMEZONE) -- The law firm of Baron & Budd, P.C. announced today that attorney Sherry Talton has received the State Bar of Texas award for Best Human Interest Story published in the past year. Talton was presented the award today at the Bar Leaders Recognition Luncheon during the State Bar's Annual Meeting, held today and tomorrow in Austin.

The story, entitled "The Two Sides of Charles K. Aris: Lawyer and Soldier" appeared in Talton's column, Patriotic Perspectives, in the December 2005 issue of the Dallas Bar Association publication Headnotes. The article profiles Aris' roles as a Dallas attorney, father, community volunteer, and soldier. A tank battalion commander with the Texas National Guard, he and his team are currently serving a year-long mission in Kosovo as part of the peace-keeping operations in the war-torn province.

Ms. Talton is an associate in the firm's litigation practice, representing victims of asbestos-related mesothelioma, silica-related diseases, and occupational hearing loss. She is also a member of the Dallas Bar Association's Publications Committee.
