Senior Project Chemist With World Am's Senz-It Subsidiary to Address National Conference On Environmental Sampling and Detection for Bio-Threat Agents


NEWPORT BEACH, Calif., Oct. 19, 2006 (PRIMEZONE) -- World Am, Inc. (OTCBB:WDAM) today reported that Elizabeth C. Tehan, a consultant and Senior Project Chemist with its Senz-It subsidiary, has been selected to address attendees at the 2nd National Conference on Environmental Sampling and Detection for Bio-Threat Agents. The three-day event will be held in New York City beginning October 26, 2006.

The conference is being sponsored by The Chemical Biological Medical Systems, the Department of Homeland Security, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the Joint Project Manager for Biological Defense, the Technical Support Working Group, and the Environmental Protection Agency. The goal is to provide a forum for dialogue between government, industry, academia, and first responders to address critical issues in environmental sampling and bio-detection.

Ms. Tehan is also a Research Associate in Chemistry at the University of Buffalo, State University of New York, the source of the potential Senz-It technology. She is also a Visiting Instructor of Chemistry at Buffalo State College. She will make her presentation during the session of the conference dealing with Detection & Identification Approaches & Devices to Biological Defense.

A graduate of Syracuse University, Ms. Tehan's areas of expertise are sol-gel-derived composites as sensing platforms, development of chemical and biochemical sensors, protein dynamics within restricted space, photophysics within microheterogeneous systems and chemical instrumentation and analysis. She is a protege of the University of Buffalo's Dr. Frank Bright, whose ongoing research led to this breakthrough sensor technology.
