World Am's Senz-It Subsidiary Replicates Creation of Oxygen Sensor in Its Facilities, a Critical Step in Marketing Products to Food Safety, Security Markets

NEWPORT BEACH, Calif., Aug. 16, 2007 (PRIME NEWSWIRE) -- World Am, Inc. (OTCBB:WDAM) today reported that its subsidiary, Senz-It, Inc., has successfully created an oxygen sensor in its own manufacturing facilities at its new headquarters. The creation of this sensor represents a critical step in Senz-It's ability to develop its sensor products for a market in which food safety and security are currently of paramount concern.

"While we are not going to market this sensor," said World Am President & CEO Robert A. Hovee, "it proves we are now capable of replicating the oxygen sensor and have successfully transferred the technology developed at the University of Buffalo.

"The oxygen sensor is a milestone in that it will become a foundation, or platform, upon which we plan to build more advanced technology - sensors that will be able to identify harmful impurities.

"We are now beginning work on a volatile compound sensor that will be one of our first products," Mr. Hovee reported.

The initial volatile compound the sensor will look to identify, the CEO said, will be xylene, a colorless, highly flammable liquid. The work to develop a xylene sensor is expected to be completed by the end of September, when work on sensors to detect other volatile organic compounds (VOCs), such as benzene and toluene, will begin. Benzene has been identified as a Class A carcinogen by the Environmental Protection Agency, and a potential agent for chemical terrorism by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

Toluene exposure comes from many sources, including drinking water, food, air, and consumer products. A serious health concern is that toluene may have an effect on the brain, potentially causing headaches, confusion, and memory loss with prolonged exposure.

Senz-It, using its proprietary product development methodology, intends to create in-line detection products, projected to be installed and compatible with original equipment manufacturers (OEM) and potential customers' existing food, water, beverage processing or distribution systems.

Senz-It will focus its sales and service efforts on commercial entities engaged in the manufacture, distribution, and/or quality assurance testing of food at both the wholesale and retail level. It also will pursue those companies in the food, water, and beverage safety, security and quality assurance industries.

"This is the first major breakthrough for Senz-It in the development of its potentially unparalleled capabilities," said Mr. Hovee. "While the sales from this first product could be very significant, we also have to keep in mind that we are pursuing three other major target sectors -- Homeland Security, indoor air quality monitoring, and health care. The potential market leadership position that Senz-It may come to enjoy also could represent additional incremental revenues."

World Am has two operating subsidiaries, Senz-It and Isotec. Senz-It represents an innovative advancement in the field of micro-sensors that have applications in Homeland Security, indoor air quality monitoring, food processing and health care. Its potential products are intended to compete in the developing field of real-time detection and notification devices, and are being designed to identify patterns of molecules present in liquid, blood and air environments for significantly less cost than current approaches.

Senz-It's sister subsidiary is Isotec, whose solutions provide "Protection, not just Detection." It develops, integrates and supplies Automated Security Portals, broadly categorized as access control, weapons control, or materials control systems that rigorously control entry or exit of people and materials into and/or out of a facility, while reducing the need for security personnel. Applications of the technology have been delivered to the commercial, retail and government sectors. Isotec's experience in this field allows it to provide high quality, code compliant, application-optimized solutions at the lowest cost in the shortest timeframe.
