Robbins Umeda LLP Has Begun an Investigation Into Data Usage Fees Charged by Verizon Wireless

SAN DIEGO, Dec. 14, 2009 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- The San Diego-based law firm's investigation concerns whether Verizon Wireless charges consumers for unintentionally sending or receiving data on mobile phones. Several media articles have reported that consumers are being charged $1.99 each time they accidentally connect to the Internet. Additionally, the Federal Communications Commission sent a letter to Verizon Wireless on December 4, 2009, inquiring whether customers were charged for accidental data usage. The FCC also asked whether mobile phones sold by Verizon Wireless had pre-programmed keys that provided direct access to mobile web services and whether customers were charged for accidentally pressing these keys.
