New Host Sites for Health Fair 11's Flu Shot Clinics

Flu Fighter Clinics Begin October 12th

MINNEAPOLIS, MN--(Marketwire - Oct 11, 2011) - Flu shot season is here and Health Fair 11 is ready to hold its annual Flu Fighter clinics. There is some important information to know before you head out to get your annual vaccination.

1. Flu Fighter clinics have new host sites. Starting October 12, flu shots will be offered at 21 Lunds & Byerly's grocery stores. Clinics will be held simultaneously at all locations.

2. Getting a flu shot at a Flu Fighter clinic supports nonprofit organizations instead of for-profit corporations. Flu Fighter vaccinations are given by registered nurses working for the Minnesota Visiting Nurse Agency (MVNA.) The MVNA is a nonprofit organization that uses all proceeds from the Flu Fighter clinics to fund its nurse home visits for thousands of children, families, and adults living in our community. Learn more about MVNA and its services at www.mvna.org.

3. Everyone is currently eligible to get a flu shot. The Centers for Disease Control & Prevention (CDC) advises nearly everyone to get a flu shot as soon as vaccine is available. To make it more convenient for families to get access to flu shots, Flu Fighter clinics have been scheduled to coincide with the statewide school break for the annual teachers' convention.
