GTT and Conrad Shipyard initiate the process for Building Membrane tank Bunker Barge
Paris (France) and Houston (TX, USA) - October 1, 2014, GTT (Gaztransport & Technigaz) (ISIN FR0011726835 Euronext Paris: GTT), world leader in the design of membrane containment systems for the maritime transportation and storage of LNG (Liquefied Natural Gas), via its US subsidiary GTT North America, announced the signing of an agreement with Conrad Shipyard, Morgan City (LA, USA) for the future production of LNG membrane tanks using GTT's technology.
The signing of an agreement initiates the process of training and preparing Conrad Shipyard, a major US shipbuilder, to offer GTT's membrane containment technologies for LNG storage, transportation, and fuel tanks. The training process will include the construction of a membrane tank model to exhibit Conrad Shipyard's manufacturing and installation expertise. The successful construction of the model tank will demonstrate to both regulatory agencies and classification societies the shipyard's skills and experience in the production of sophisticated membrane technologies.
This partnership demonstrates the continued commitment of both GTT North America and Conrad Shipyard to the development of the LNG fuel market in the US, including small and mid-scale LNG infrastructure to support development of this nascent market. Earlier in the year, Conrad and Bristol Harbor Group International (BHGI), a naval architecture and marine engineering firm, developed a concept design for a 4,200 cubic meter LNG bunker barge, adapting BHGI's proven 35,000 bbl, oil barge platform technology to include two LNG cargo tanks fitted with GTT's proprietary Mark III Flex Containment System technology. The use of GTT membrane cargo tanks increase in LNG storage capacity by 40% compared to the alternative "type C" storage tanks in the same barge footprint.

GTT et le chantier naval Conrad lancent le processus de construction des barges de soutage en membrane
Paris (France) et Houston (TX, USA) - 1 octobre 2014, GTT (Gaztransport & Technigaz) (ISIN FR0011726835 Euronext Paris: GTT), leader mondial de la conception de systèmes de confinement à membranes pour le transport maritime et le stockage du GNL (Gaz Naturel Liquéfié), a annoncé, via sa filiale US, GTT North America, la signature d'un accord avec le chantier Naval Conrad, Morgan City (LA, USA) pour la future construction de cuves à membrane incorporant la technologie GTT.
La signature de cet accord initie le processus de formation et prépare Conrad Shipyard, chantier naval majeur aux Etats-Unis, à offrir les technologies membranes à confinement pour le stockage de GNL, le transport, et les réservoirs à carburant. Le processus de formation comprendra la construction d'une maquette de cuve à membrane servant à démontrer l'expertise du chantier en matière de production et d'installation. Le succès de cette construction démontrera aux agences de régulation et aux sociétés de classification les compétences du chantier et l'expérience dans la construction des technologies sophistiquées à membrane.
Ce partenariat démontre l'engagement de GTT North America et le chantier naval Conrad pour le développement du marché du GNL comme carburant aux Etats-Unis, incluant les petites et moyennes infrastructures GNL pour soutenir le développement de ce marché naissant. En début d'année, Conrad et Bristol Harbor Group International (BHGI), une entreprise d'architecture navale et d'ingénierie marine, ont développé un design pour une barge de soutage GNL de 4 200 m3, adaptant le design éprouvé de barge pétrolière de 35 000 bbm de BHGI afin d'y inclure deux cuves GNL construites avec la technologie Mark III Flex. L'utilisation de la membrane GTT augmente la capacité de stockage de GNL de 40% en comparaison avec les cuves de stockage de « type C » pour les barges de la même taille.
