LAS VEGAS, Oct. 25, 2017 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- SmartMetric, Inc. (OTCQB:SMME) – SmartMetric, the developer of the biometric fingerprint activated credit card, is showing its working biometric credit and cyber access card at the Money 20/20 Conference being held at the Venetian Sands Exhibition in Las Vegas.

The Money 20/20 Conference and Exhibition is the largest payments, credit cards, and innovations around money conference in the World.

“A constant stream of Bank executives have been coming to our stand at the Money 20/20 exhibition to see our working biometric fingerprint activated and user validated credit card.  More than seven Banks from around the world are now in talks with SmartMetric concerning issuing the SmartMetric card as a direct result of exhibiting at the Money 20/20 Conference and Exhibition," said the President and CEO of SmartMetric today at the Money 20/20 Conference.

Today is the last day of the Conference and Exhibition.  SmartMetric will be continuing further meetings and talks at Money 20/20.  SmartMetric is also now in talks with distributors and representatives who are wanting to participate in the global sales and marketing of the SmartMetric Biometric Credit Card.

The SmartMetric Biometric Card is built around the EMV Chip Card.  It uses a person’s fingerprint to activate the card in a secure on card scan and match.

SmartMetric is now in card purchasing talks with more than seven banks from Europe, Asia, Middle East, Latin America and the United States.

Keeping your biometric identity safe is at the center of the design of the SmartMetric biometric card.  At no time does a card holder's fingerprint leave the card.  A person’s fingerprint is stored inside the card and matching of the person's fingerprint is done on the card itself.  This was a central design requirement of the SmartMetric biometric card solution that necessitated SmartMetric to create a self-powered inside the card, fully functional fingerprint scanner.  Also, so that the card could be used at ATM’s and POS (Point Of Sale) card readers, the SmartMetric development team created an on card miniature power management system that recharges the card as it is being used in card readers.

Without a rechargeable battery and sophisticated intelligent power management system inside the card, a fingerprint biometric card would not last longer than a few months, according to SmartMetric’s President and CEO, Chaya Hendrick.

Speaking today from the Money 20/20 Conference in Las Vegas, Ms. Hendrick said, “We are excited to show the card issuing banks who are attending the Money 20/20 Conference, our leading biometric technology.   At this point in time we are able to manufacture 1 million cards a month and are able to rapidly increase this production capacity to over 10 million cards a month as demand from card issuers increases.”

SmartMetric is showing both its Biometric Credit Card along with its Cyber and Access Security Card in the main exhibition hall, booth 339 at the Money 20/20 Conference today in Las Vegas.
