NetZero Offers Free Weekends of "NetZero Platinum" Pay Internet Service Throughout September

WESTLAKE VILLAGE, Calif., Aug. 30, 2001 (PRIMEZONE) -- NetZero, Inc. (Nasdaq:NZRO), a leading provider of Internet access services, is offering consumers a chance to experience free preview weekends of NetZero Platinum -- NetZero's $9.95 a month Internet service featuring no banner ad window. During each weekend in September 2001, NetZero will offer its free users with the opportunity to preview NetZero Platinum at no cost.

To take advantage of this offer, consumers can download the NetZero free software by visiting the NetZero Web site at www.netzero.net. All users who log onto the free service will experience the NetZero Platinum service at no cost during the weekends of September 1st, 8th, 15th, 22nd and 29th, 2001.

NetZero Platinum is NetZero's $9.95 monthly pay service that offers quality service without a banner ad window and faster page loads. In addition, the service includes a free email account, 24-Hour Customer Support, fast reliable connections, thousands of access numbers, the ZeroPort speed dial for the Web, access to powerful search engines, as well as compatibility with popular instant messaging programs including AOL Instant Messenger, ICQ and Yahoo! All this for less than half the price of what AOL, MSN and EarthLink charge for their standard services.

"Due to the overwhelmingly positive response of the first NetZero Platinum Preview weekend that we promoted in June, we decided to repeat the promotion extending it further to five weekends versus one," stated Brian Woods, senior vice president and chief marketing officer. "We continue to believe that the best selling tool for NetZero Platinum is giving users the ability to experience the quality of the Platinum service for themselves."

Customers who choose to sign up for the NetZero Platinum service will also have an opportunity to receive a special introductory offer: five months of service, with the sixth month free, giving them an incredible value of six months of Internet service with no ad window for under $50 dollars.

NetZero announced earlier this week that it will be giving away 30 trips for two to Hawaii in a sweepstakes that will run the entire month of September 2001. Any existing or new NetZero Platinum member during the month of September will be automatically entered into the sweepstakes. Each of the 30 prize packages, which will be given away in a drawing held on or about October 12, 2001, consists of round-trip air transportation to Honolulu, Hawaii for two, and seven days and six nights of accommodations in Waikiki.

For more information on the sweepstakes or to get a complete copy of the Official Rules, please go to http://www.netzero.net/paradise/rules.html. No purchase necessary.
