News Release from the Annual General Meeting of AB Lindex on January 17, 2002


STOCKHOLM, Sweden, Jan. 17, 2002 (PRIMEZONE) -- Lindex:

Dividend

The Annual General Meeting confirmed the proposed dividend of SEK 3.00 (5.00) per share. Record day for the dividend is January 22, 2002.

Increased number of Board Members

The Board of Directors' proposal to amend the Articles of Association relating to number of Board Members was adopted by the AGM. It means that the number of Board Members elected by the AGM shall be not less than three and not more than nine.

Birgitta Johansson-Hedberg, Gerard H. De Geer, Marie Ehrling, Tommy Persson and Erik Stensrud were re-elected as Board Members. Jorgen Johansson, President and CEO of Lindex, Bengt Larsson, who has extensive experience with IKEA, Michael Lemner, Purchasing Director of Bally and former country manager of Hennes & Mauritz in Belgium and France and Lars Otterbeck, President of Alecta and former president of Dagab and D&D Daglivaror AB were elected as Board Members.

At the Inaugural Board Meeting following the AGM Birgitta Johansson- Hedberg was re-elected as Chairwoman.

The employees have appointed Karin Larsson and Rigmor Lindback, HAF, as Employee Representatives. Alice Eriksson, HAF, and Rune Lindstrand, HTF, have been appointed Deputy Employee Representatives.

Re-election of Nomination Committee Birgitta Johansson-Hedberg, Ramsay Brufer (Alecta), Bjorn Lind (SEB Fonder) and Ola Uhre (Orkla) were re-elected as Members of the Nomination Committee.

Incentive scheme

The Annual General Meeting, like the previous AGM, decided to adopt the Board of Directors' proposal for an incentive scheme for senior executives. The scheme covers to the period September 1, 2001 - August 31, 2002.

Lindex well prepared for the future

In his speech at the AGM, Lindex's President Jorgen Johansson covered the 2000/2001 financial year and the first quarter of the current financial year. He also referred to the Competition Authority's approval of Lindex's acquisition of Twilfit. "The action programme has generated the desired results and we are now well equipped to continue our development and growth," said Jorgen Johansson in conclusion of his speech at the AGM.

Lindex is a retail chain with 356 stores of which 321 are in the Nordic market and 35 stores in Germany. The Group's product areas are Ladies' Wear, Lingerie and Childrens' Clothing.
