Nokia BIG-IP® 2000 Delivers Internet Traffic Management Solution for Enterprises Running Mission Critical Applications


Mountain View, Ca - (April 29, 2002) - Today Nokia announced the new Nokia BIG-IP® 2000 Application Switch, a fast and flexible Internet Traffic and Content Management (iTCM) solution that ensures high availability, reliability and scalability for enterprise web applications and services. The BIG-IP 2000 is a port dense, local area traffic management solution that features advanced Layer 7 capabilities to make intelligent load balancing decisions. The solution supports enterprise-class IP (Internet Protocol) networks and applications that require superior performance and availability .

The BIG-IP 2000 is the latest application switch in Nokia's iTCM product line through its alliance with F5 Networks, Inc. (Nasdaq: FFIV), the leading provider of Internet Traffic and Content Management (iTCM) solutions. Other products in the Nokia iTCM product line include the Nokia BIG-IP FireGuard 520 appliance, Nokia BIG-IP HA+ 540 appliance and the Nokia BIG-IP 5000 application switch. The BIG-IP 2000 includes on-board SSL acceleration to offload processor-intensive functions from application servers and increase overall performance.
