Omega Ventures Group Inc. Subsidiary, Western Gas Corporation, Announces Update of Work Program at Manahuilla Creek Gas Well

SALT LAKE CITY, July 13, 2004 (PRIMEZONE) -- Publicly traded Omega Ventures Group Inc. (OTCBB:OMGV) subsidiary, Western Gas Corporation, announces update of work program at Manahuilla Creek Gas Well.

The BB Gayle No. 1 at Manahuilla Creek in Goliad County, Texas has recommenced work and the following information was supplied by The Operator (P.B. Energy Partners):

The crew is on site and will run the di-pole shear sonic log to increase the resolution of the laminated sand sequences and show changes in velocity which are related to gas.

The results of the sonic log will be turned over to the engineer for processing and an evaluation of the results and a recommendation for further development of the well.

When the well was opened up again last week, we had 2000 lbs surface pressure. The well flowed gas until the pressure dropped and the well started to make water. We have not had a satisfactory explanation of why we are getting fresh water and hopefully this question will be resolved in the next stage of testing. We are optimistic that the water problem can be solved and that we will have a Commercial Gas Well.

We will keep you updated as the work progresses.

Western Gas Corporation owns a 2.5% working interest (W.I) in the well and 1.875% net revenue interest (NRI).
