JERUSALEM, July 13, 2004 (PRIMEZONE) -- Identa Corp. (Pink Sheets:IDTA), through Forensic Product International Ltd, its marketing arm for Australia and New Zealand, is pleased to make public the signing of an agreement with Australia's leading and largest scientific distributor, Biolab Ltd.
The agreement, effective as of July 1, is long-term and comprehensive, giving Biolab the exclusive rights for sale of the Identa products in their territory.
Biolab has 10 branch offices in Australia and five in New Zealand, with a salaried work force of more than 250 people and a sales turnover of $50 million a year. More information about Biolab is available at www.biolabgroup.com.
This agreement comes as no surprise since Biolab has been active for more than six months in starting penetration of Identa products in the above-mentioned areas.
A recent email from Robert Lesnjak, Sales and Marketing Manager to Identa CEO Yaacov Shoham, gives a slight indication of the spheres Biolab has already reached: "Many conversations with Australian Customs -- they are proposing to go ahead with an annual standing order arrangement for the product. I have a meeting with Kim Woo on July 9 in Canberra to discuss the details and stocking/pricing requirements for them. I can then give (an) accurate assessment of our buying commitments to you.
"We have also been working closely with the NSW Police, and are presently awaiting the commissioner to sanction a limited trial. If the trial goes ahead and is successful the NSW Police (200+ police stations) will purchase kits for normal routine duties. We will know in the next two weeks if this trial will go ahead, and, if so, the results of the trial will be known by the end of November.
"We have also been working closely with several of the Narcotics Divisions of the police forces across Australia who are very interested in the kit. If the NSW police trial goes ahead these groups will await their report. If the trial does not go ahead, we expect to begin trials with some of these groups directly.
"I will be advertising the product in the September edition of the WA, VIC and QLD Police Journals. We have been busy preparing training material suitable for the Police and in preparation for the trial commencement."
