IT - GENIUM for OMX Nordic Exchange – January 2007 Implementation update (05/08)

Here is an update on the time plan and implementation of GENIUM for the OMX Nordic Exchange.

On November 12, 2007 OMX introduced a low latency market data service for equities and related instruments based on GENIUM FIX for OMX Nordic Exchange. The interface is based on the previously published FIX and FAST specifications (versions 1.0.5 and 1.0.2 respectively).

As earlier communicated, FIX for the current cash trading platform SAXESS, was to be introduced Q4 2008. As a result of the urgent demand from the market for low latency trading, OMX has decided to cancel this delivery and instead fully focus on delivering considerable latency improvements already as part of SAXESS 5.0.0 with a production launch in June 2008.

As communicated earlier, FIX for cash trading, as well as derivatives trading will be used when the Nordic Exchange migrates to a GENIUM based trading solution.

A more detailed time plan for upcoming GENIUM test systems and final FIX-specifications including FAST templates will be provided at a later date.
