About the Author
Betty Carr's scrambled early life was perfect for a writer. Divided among her home in suburbia, a rustic Indiana farm, the dunes, and the Chicago Loop, it taught her to appreciate the differences and strengths of people in very different lives. Even college was financed by working in a bookmobile, union office, telephone factory, steel mill, and radio station. She credits thinking, "What a great experience this disaster will be in an autobiography!" with helping her through many a rough time.
