Smart Maintenance Makes the Leap to Bigfoot CMMS

MEREDITH, NH--(Marketwire - February 25, 2008) - Maintenance software company Smartware Group announced today that it has changed the name of its computerized maintenance management software (CMMS) product from Smart Maintenance to Bigfoot.

Why? "We think our product stands out from the pack, and we want our name to do the same," said Paul Lachance, president.

There was, of course, more to it than that. Learning that similarly named products would prevent ever trademarking the old name, company executives began thinking about the functions a name serves and what their new product name should encompass. They knew they wanted something simple, easy to remember and, well, different from the competition. They got it with Bigfoot.

But you won't see any oversized footprints or images of Sasquatch. Along with the name, Smartware Group has adopted a very contemporary and professional new logo and look, once again intended to reflect its product's qualities.

According to Lachance, "Just about everyone who views our demo comments on the clean, streamlined look and how it really makes Bigfoot easier to learn and use than other maintenance programs. We changed the name, but we didn't change what we think makes our solution superior maintenance software."

The look carries over to both the website (www.bigfootcmms.com) and advertising, both of which urge prospects to "make the leap to Bigfoot."

"Many of our customers are moving from paper-based maintenance tracking to their first automated system. Others have had an unsuccessful experience with another product. Either way, choosing a new CMMS package is a big leap for them," says Lachance. "We think Bigfoot is a great choice for most organizations; it's powerful and user friendly, and it fits just about anyone's budget."
