Co-Managers Added to Two IMS Funds


PORTLAND, Ore., March 3, 2008 (PRIME NEWSWIRE) -- IMS Capital Management today announced that Joseph M. Ledgerwood, CFA, has been named co-portfolio manager of the IMS Capital Value Fund (IMSCX) and Donald A. Shute, CFA, has been named co-portfolio manager of the IMS Strategic Income Fund (IMSIX). Existing portfolio manager Carl W. Marker will continue to work on both Funds, serving as co-manager.

Mr. Ledgerwood has been working alongside Mr. Marker for nearly six years as a senior research analyst, specializing in equities. Prior to joining IMS in 2002, Mr. Ledgerwood gained financial services experience at a full service brokerage firm and at a bank. He has a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in Finance from the University of Portland and is a member of the Portland Society of Financial Analysts.

Mr. Shute has been working with Mr. Marker for two years as a senior research analyst, specializing in fixed income. Prior to joining IMS, Mr. Shute worked for four years at Bear Stearns Asset Management in New York, managing high yield bonds and researching international government credit and corporate debt securities. Prior to that, Mr. Shute served in a wide range of fixed income portfolio manager/analyst roles at GT Asset Management in San Francisco and Hong Kong and at Wells Fargo Asset Management in San Francisco. With 18 years industry experience, Mr. Shute is a member of the Portland Society of Financial Analysts, and has a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Illinois as well as a Master of Science degree from Utah State University.

IMS also announced that Art Nunes, CMT, principal and co-manager of the IMS Strategic Allocation Fund (IMSAX), has been named chief investment officer. In this role, Mr. Nunes will oversee the investment strategy of the IMS Funds and separate account portfolios, ensuring investment philosophy and disciplines are adhered to while continually evaluating ways to improve the overall investment process. Prior to joining IMS Capital Management in 2003, Mr. Nunes managed fee-based portfolios at RBC Dain Rauscher. With 23 years industry experience, Mr. Nunes has a Bachelor of Science degree from Ohio State University and is a frequent market commentator on CNBC.
