LAS VEGAS, June 3, 2008 (PRIME NEWSWIRE) -- City National Bank today announced that Dianne Merkey has joined its Private Banking and Wealth Management Services group as vice president and senior relationship manager. Merkey will be located at the bank's regional center in Summerlin at 10801 W. Charleston Boulevard near I-215. She will report to Robert Glaser, senior vice president and Nevada manager of Private Banking and Wealth Management Services.
Prior to joining City National, Merkey worked six years for US Bank in Las Vegas where she served as vice president and Private Banking relationship manager. She began working for US Bank after relocating to southern Nevada from the East Coast in 2002.
During her tenure in banking, Merkey has worked for a number of financial institutions in a variety of positions. She worked for Ridgefield Bank in Ridgefield, Connecticut, as vice president and business development officer. Merkey also served as vice president and private banking market executive for Summit Bank in New Haven, Connecticut. She spent some time with NSS Bank in Norwalk, Connecticut, and Fairfield First Bank & Trust Co., in Fairfield, Connecticut. Merkey began her banking career in 1975 as a mortgage officer with Northampton Institution for Savings in Northampton, Massachusetts.

Merkey is a graduate of the College of Our Lady of the Elms in Chicopee, Massachusetts, where she graduated Summa Cum Laude and earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Social Work.
Merkey is actively involved in the Las Vegas community serving as a member or volunteer of several trade organizations and nonprofit groups. She is currently serving as a board member of the Animal Foundation (Lied Animal Shelter) and is a member of the organization's executive committee. She has also served as a volunteer for the Christmas in April redevelopment program with the City of Las Vegas and the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation. Merkey has also been a member of various chamber organizations, including the Las Vegas and North Las Vegas Chambers of Commerce.
