TOKYO, July 1, 2008 (PRIME NEWSWIRE) -- Internet Initiative Japan Inc. (IIJ) (Nasdaq:IIJI) (TSE1:3774), one of Japan's leading Internet access and comprehensive network solutions providers, today announced that IIJ Innovation Institute Inc. (IIJ-II) -- a business incubation center for technology development and commercialization of the next generation Internet, and a 100% owned subsidiary of IIJ -- will issue a call for new technologists on August 1 to broadly recruit people with innovative technologies and new ideas.
This second round of recruitment follows from the first round conducted in January of this year, when the IIJ Innovation Institute New Technologist Recruitment Program(1) was conducted as part of the activities celebrating the fifteenth anniversary of IIJ's founding. IIJ-II will provide budding technologists with network equipment, a software testing environment, and other support necessary for technological development, and assist in the commercialization of the development results.
(1) The first round of recruitment was conducted from January 7 to February 29, 2008. Of the 25 proposals received, two made it to the final stage, and one person was recruited.
The IIJ group will continue to show initiative in the network technology sector and work to advance the Internet.
