About the Author-Artist

Dr. John Wolfersberger (MDiv, DMin) was born November 1, 1936, and grew up in Hutchinson, Kansas. His love of art began in grade school. In the seventh grade he was given private art lessons where he was introduced to oils and watercolors. His primary medium is watercolor. He has taken workshops with numerous accomplished artists throughout the United States. He combines his painting hobby with photography, computer art and writing. His love of poetry stems from early childhood. His Mother, an English major, memorized a large repertoire of poems by the classical poets and recited them to him at bedtime. His career as a clergyman in the Midwest and Southern California spans over four decades in the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) and the United Church of Christ. He has been present in the crucibles of thousands of lives experiencing love's ups and downs. He retired in 2001 and devotes most of his time to his hobbies. He has been married 50 years to Marsha, a music educator. They live in Beaumont, CA.
