OMA Informs Regarding the Effect of the Suspension of Operations by the Airline Alma de Mexico


MONTERREY, Mexico, Nov. 7, 2008 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Mexican airport operator Grupo Aeroportuario del Centro Norte, S.A.B. de C.V., known as OMA, provided information regarding the suspension of operations and bankruptcy filing by the airline Aerolineas Mesoamericanas, S.A. de C.V. (Alma de Mexico).

Alma announced today that it was suspending operations and was filing for bankruptcy, as a result of the difficult business environment facing the airline industry in recent months.

Until today, Alma was operating in nine OMA airports: Chihuahua, Mazatlan, Monterrey, San Luis Potosi, Tampico, Zihuatanejo, Reynosa, Torreon, and Ciudad Juarez. The airline accounted for 3.3% of OMA's total passenger traffic in October 2008, and 3.5% of total passenger traffic during the first ten months of 2008.
