ANAHEIM HILLS, Calif., Nov. 10, 2008 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Canyon Acres Children and Family Services, a charity organization committed to providing homes, care, treatment and supportive services for abused, neglected and emotionally troubled children and their families, today announced the beginning of its 2008 Holiday Campaign, a gift-collecting and fundraising campaign to support signature programs and services. The agency focuses on individualized treatment to help children heal, learn and grow.
"This year's holiday season comes amid unstable global economic times, but it is critical we do not forget the children who need us most," said Clete Menke, President of Canyon Acres. "The 2008 Holiday Campaign will help us give kids a feeling of home and safety during the holiday season in a world that is already rife with turmoil. There are many ways to help this holiday season, including participating in the holiday toy drive, purchasing a gift card, or making a donation.
2008 has been a tremendously successful year for Canyon Acres. Earlier in the year the agency acquired Family Solutions in a merger that allowed Canyon Acres to expand its range of services to help even more children. The agency also opened adoption and foster-adoption programs to help kids receive the greatest gift of all-a permanent, loving family.
Also this year, the agency launched a new after-school treatment program at the Ranch, employing cutting-edge methods in the fields of child-welfare and mental health to help children get back on the right track. Canyon Acres now serves more than 250 children per day in Orange, Los Angeles, Riverside and San Diego Counties.
