Cooley Bolsters Boston Business and Technology Practice With Addition of Mark L. Johnson

BOSTON, MA--(Marketwire - January 5, 2009) - Cooley Godward Kronish LLP announced today that
Mark L. Johnson, formerly the chair of the underwriting group at
WilmerHale, has joined the Firm's business practice as partner, resident in
the Boston office.

Johnson's practice focuses on corporate and securities law. He has
extensive experience representing issuers, underwriters and investors in
financings by companies in a variety of industries, including software,
telecommunications, medical services and cable television operations. A
significant portion of Johnson's practice consists of counseling public and
private clients on ongoing corporate and securities matters, including
transactional and corporate governance issues.

and Regulation S offerings. In addition, Johnson has represented public and
private companies in a variety of mergers and acquisitions, including stock
mergers, cash mergers, asset sales, management buy-outs and proxy contests.
