The claim was filed on behalf of investors who purchased the Lehman Brothers 100% Principal Protection Note ("Lehman Principal Protection Note").
According to the Claim, the Claimants were advised by UBS that the Lehman Principal Protection Note was a low risk investment that would provide the safety of a Certificate of Deposit, with the upside of the S&P 500, and that 100% of their principal would be protected. Believing the Note was safe and secure, the Claimants placed a significant amount of money in the product. In reality, however, the Note was much different and carried significant risks which UBS failed to disclose to the Claimants, including the risk of default. With the bankruptcy of Lehman Brothers, the Claimants' investment in the Lehman Principal Protection Note is virtually worthless.
While a class action lawsuit has been filed against UBS regarding the Lehman Principal Protection Note, Klayman & Toskes reminds investors of the benefits of filing an individual arbitration claim, as opposed to participating in a class action lawsuit.
