Exalt Communications Announces New Executive Appointments to Support Global Expansion and Product Demand

Michael Frausing Named Senior Vice President, Worldwide Sales; Rod Perry Named Vice President of Business Development; Robert Schlaefli Takes on Broader Role in Engineering and Operations


CAMPBELL, CA--(Marketwire - February 9, 2009) - To support its global expansion and respond to increased demand for its licensed and license-exempt wireless backhaul products, Exalt Communications today announced several executive appointments. Mike Frausing has joined the company as senior vice president, worldwide sales; Rod Perry has joined as vice president, business development. Both Messrs. Frausing and Perry joined Exalt from LGC Wireless, an ADC Company. Robert Schlaefli, who had been vice president of the company's operations group, has been appointed to the expanded role of vice president, engineering and operations.

Mr. Frausing has over 25 years of industry experience successfully growing revenues and leading strategic account acquisition with major wireless and telecommunications service providers worldwide. He spent six years with LGC Wireless as EVP, chief sales & marketing officer, where he grew revenues from $12M to $100M, and leading to its acquisition by ADC. Prior to LGC, Mr. Frausing spent 15 years with Ericsson in various senior sales leadership positions selling to carriers worldwide, and focused on wireless infrastructure sales and business development ranging from Land Mobile Radio to CDMA and 3G technologies. Mr. Frausing has completed the management program at Swedish Institute of Management.

Rod Perry, Vice President of Business Development

Mr. Perry has more than 25 years experience in various business development and sales leadership roles, most recently as VP, global market development at ADC (formerly LGC Wireless). Mr. Perry started with LGC in 1998 and was instrumental in growing the company's annual revenues from zero to $100M. Prior to LGC, Mr. Perry held sales, sales management and business development roles at companies including Xerox, TMC Communications (WorldCom), Octel (Lucent) and Call Dynamics. Mr. Perry brings extensive international market insights and experience spanning Europe, Middle East, Africa, and Latin America. He holds a BS in business administration from Southern Utah University.

Robert Schlaefli, Vice President of Engineering and Operations

Mr. Schlaefli joined Exalt in October 2007 as vice president, operations. He has over 25 years of experience in operations and general management for high technology firms. Prior to Exalt, Mr. Schlaefli headed operations for start-ups Teak Technologies and Loea Corporation, a manufacturer of E-Band 70/80GHz point-to-point digital radios. Previously, Mr. Schlaefli was the vice president of Global Operations for Stratex Networks (now Harris Stratex Networks) and served as vice president and general manager of DMC Stratex Networks NZ Ltd. in Wellington, New Zealand. During his five years with Stratex Networks, Mr. Schlaefli was responsible for revenues ranging from $30M to $200M per year. Earlier in his career, Mr. Schlaefli served as division president at Signal Technology specializing in the development and manufacture of microwave products serving telecommunications and defense markets. Mr. Schlaefli has completed the management program at AEA Institute, Stanford University.
