Witness Nightmares Real and Imagined -- New Book is a Disturbing Look Into the Future and Ourselves

PALOS VERDES, Calif., April 15, 2009 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- J. Allan Wolf's literary dexterity has resulted in a landmark vision of the future that is at once terrifying, fantastic, and ultimately hopeful: Spacebraid and Other Tales of a Dystopian Universe.

Spacebraid and Other Tales of a Dystopian Universe is an imaginative collection of one novella and seven short stories strange and diverse, uncomfortably weird yet rooted in the most human of emotions and desires. Join a brilliant group of individuals as they desperately try to circumvent ecological catastrophe in "Spacebraid," the cinematic story of courage in a dying world. Learn the innermost thoughts of a sensitive vampire in "The Vampire's Lament." Attend a very terminal soiree in "Final Discretion." In these and four other stories, you will explore deeply disturbing worlds in which the guiding forces are the will to survive, to find love, and to belong.

Be forewarned that these stories will challenge you to examine your deepest emotions and wants. They connect at a viscerally potent level, placing you in touch with your values, hopes, and fears. In Spacebraid and Other Tales of a Dystopian Universe, Wolf emerges as a master storyteller adept at summoning the proverbial dark forces that populate our terrified consciousness. If you have courage, by all means take the journey. You'll be glad you did.
