"Alcatel-Lucent announced that it has been chosen by Guandong Telecom, a subsidiary of China Telecom, to deploy first VDSL2 (Very high-speed Digital Subscriber Line 2) network in China. The Alcatel-Lucent's technology will let Guandong Telecom to provide such services as high-definition television, video-on-demand services, videoconferencing, broadband Internet access and others, to clients in Guandong province, in the south of China. In addition, China Telecom has chosen the Company's solution GPON (Gigabit Passive Optical Networking)."
