About Larenz Tate:

Larenz Tate has managed to stay true to his personal mission of striving for excellence. As an actor, writer, and activist, Tate applies that same dedication to every aspect of his life. He made his silver screen debut in Allen and Albert Hughes' cult classic film, MENACE II SOCIETY, where his ground breaking role as the unforgettable O-DOG allowed him to be recognized as one of Hollywood's most promising young actors.

Proving his acting diversity, Tate went on star in many films, including the audience loved LOVE JONES. The film won the Audience Awards for Best Film at the 1997 Sundance Film Festival. Tate's role also garnished a Best Actor nomination at the NAACP Image Awards. Within a short period of time, Tate's dedication to his craft had led him to one of his most challenging roles as the singing lothario Frankie Lymon, in the 1998 biopic "Why Do Fools Fall in Love." The role won Tate the Acapulco Black Film Festival award for Best Actor in 1999. Tate then went on to co-star in the Academy Awards recognized films RAY and CRASH. Most recently, he has joined the cast of F/X's drama RESCUE ME. The series centers on professional and personal lives of firefighters in Post-9/11 New York.
