"With monetary support to nonprofit agencies down this year, City National has increased its in-kind donations and volunteer support to charitable organizations," said Larry Charlton, senior vice president and Nevada regional executive. "Community Health Charities is a wonderful nonprofit group and providing them with this in-kind donation reaffirms City National's commitment to helping build stronger communities, even during these challenging economic times."

The office space being donated to CHC includes a reception area, four enclosed offices, storage area, supply room and kitchen. The equipment and office furniture donation consists of a laptop computer, phones, desks, chairs, filing cabinets and cubicles. The facility has two separate entrances located on the west and south side of the bank's 5,500 square foot branch.

"The money City National Bank is saving us in rent and equipment is significant, especially in today's environment," said Ed Vovsi, executive director of Community Health Charities of Nevada. "The bank's generosity will allow us to serve the growing needs of health agencies all across Nevada. These health agencies rely heavily on our financial support."

CHC supports 24 voluntary health agencies in Nevada, all of which are dedicated to the alleviation of human suffering and despair caused by the diseases those agencies are organized to combat. These agencies serve the community through direct services, patient and public education, rehabilitation services, the support of basic lifesaving biomedical research and through referral and crisis intervention. CHC also participates in public sector employee worksite campaigns in Nevada in conjunction with the local United Way. (For more information about CHC, go to www.healthcharities.org.)

CHC is one of more than 75 nonprofit groups City National supports each year in Nevada with monetary, in-kind and volunteer support. Dean Collins, vice president and branch relationship manager of the bank, has served as a board member and as board chairman of CHC the last five years. Collins is one of more than 20 officers of the bank who are volunteering their time to serve on nonprofit boards in Nevada.
