Metso Corporation's largest shareholders according to the shareholder register on November 2, 2009

Metso's Annual General Meeting decided on March 31, 2009 to establish
a Nomination Committee to prepare proposals for the next Annual
General Meeting on the composition of the Board of Directors along
with the director remuneration.

The representatives of the four biggest shareholders are elected to
the Nomination Committee. The Committee additionally comprises as
expert members Jukka Viinanen, the Chairman of the Board of Directors
as well as Jaakko Rauramo the Vice Chairman of the Board of
Directors, as the Board of Directors appointed member. The right to
nominate members to represent shareholders in the Committee belongs
to the four shareholders who hold the most votes in Metso on November
2, 2009. The Chairman of the Board will convene the Nomination
Committee, and the Committee will elect a chairman from among its
members.

According to the shareholder register, Metso Corporation's four
largest shareholders on November 2, 2009 were: Solidium Oy
(15,695,287 shares and votes or 11.07% of share capital and votes),
Cevian Capital II Master Fund L.P. (7,060,060 shares and votes or
4.98% of share capital and votes), Varma Mutual Pension Insurance
Company (3,520,204 shares and votes or 2.48% of share capital and
votes) and Ilmarinen Mutual Pension Insurance Company (3,177,621
shares and votes or 2.24% of share capital and votes).

Metso Corporation's next Annual General Meeting is planned to be held
on March 30, 2010.
