Ecology and Environment, Inc. Awarded $10 Million Navy Contract

Second Contract Win Will Engage E & E in Further AICUZ, RAICUZ and Encroachment-Related Studies


BUFFALO, N.Y., March 24, 2010 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Ecology and Environment, Inc., (Nasdaq:EEI) today announced that it has been awarded a $10 million indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract with the Naval Facilities Engineering Command (NAFVAC), Atlantic. This latest work has been secured by E & E in addition to its recent award of a $40 million Navy contract, announced on March 10, to provide National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) and related planning services. 

The new contract engages E & E in the preparation of Air Installation Compatible Use Zones (AICUZ) studies, Range Air Installations Compatible Use Zones (RAICUZ) studies, and related encroachment/sustainability studies at various Navy and Marine Corps facilities and other government facilities around the world.

The work will be performed in support of preserving public health, safety, and welfare, as well as helping to uphold the Navy's flying mission at its key air stations in the United States and worldwide. Regional areas of focus in the U.S. include Maryland, Virginia, North Carolina, and California, though work may also be performed within other states in the NAVFAC, Atlantic area of responsibility and the adjacent waters of the Atlantic and Pacific oceans, including the Caribbean, Europe and North Africa.  The contract has a 60-month term, with an expected completion date in March 2015.
