PONSSE PLC STOCK EXCHANGE RELEASE 19 APRIL 2010 THE NET SALES AND OPERATING RESULT FROM BUSINESS OPERATIONS OF PONSSE PLC ARE ANTICIPATED TO BE BETTER THAN EXPECTED Ponsse Plc has published on 16 February 2010 Financial Statements release, and according to the results guidance included in them ”Net sales in 2010 will grow from previous year. Operating result and cash flow from business operations will be positive. The operating results of the quarters will be different due to seasonal fluctuation.” The sales of forest machines continued to pick up during the first quarter of 2010. At the end of the period under review, the company's order book stood at EUR 37 million (EUR 16 million). The factory increased its capacity utilisation rate by approximately 40%. During the first quarter of 2010, the company's net sales and profitability have developed better than expected. The company's net sales during the first quarter of 2010 amounted to approximately EUR 51.3 million (EUR 37.5 million), while its operating result was about EUR 2.8 million (EUR -8.7 million). The net income recorded during the period under review was about EUR 6.3 million (EUR -9.4 million). The net income includes financial income of about EUR 2.1 million mainly resulting from currency rate fluctuations (EUR -258 thousand). The adjustment request regarding the company's income taxation was approved, and as a result, the income tax for the first quarter amounts to approximately EUR 1.5 million (EUR -410 thousand). Net sales for 2010 will grow substantially compared to the previous year. Operating result and cash flow from business operations will be clearly positive.
