Canyon Acres Announces Resignation of Clete Menke

ORANGE, Calif., Sept. 2, 2010 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Canyon Acres Children and Family Services, a Southern California non-profit organization committed to providing homes, care, treatment and supportive services for abused, neglected and emotionally troubled children and their families, announced today that Clete Menke has resigned the post of president.

Menke served as Canyon Acres president for more than a decade. His tenure is defined by the successful evolution of the agency as it responded to a fast changing landscape and philosophies in the care, treatment and support of abused, neglected and emotionally troubled children and their families.

Linda Denton, Canyon Acres' vice chairman of programs and longtime board member and former chairman, will serve as interim president. Current board chairman Harald Herrmann, president and CEO of Yard House Restaurants, in conjunction with an experienced executive management team and board of directors, will oversee the transitional phase as the search ensues for a new president.

"Working with Canyon Acres has been a distinct honor," said Menke. "I witnessed significant progress in the agency's ability to restore care, hope and love to the children who need it most and to help bring an end to multi-generational cycles of abuse and neglect."

"The Canyon Acres board recognizes the hard work and dedication Clete has invested in the agency all these years," said Herrmann. "The lifeblood of the agency -- our mission to serve abused, neglected and emotionally troubled children and their families -- is strong and will continue to strengthen for the foreseeable future."
