Hearst Magazines International Terminates Harper's Bazaar License in Japan


NEW YORK, NY--(Marketwire - November 10, 2010) - Hearst Magazines International (HMI) today announced that, effective immediately, it is terminating the license to publish Harper's Bazaar in Japan held by HB Japan.

HB Japan has published Harper's Bazaar in Japan since August 2000 and earlier this year announced that it was transferring publication of Harper's Bazaar in Japan to a new entity, HB Inc. HMI and HB Inc. discussed granting a license to the new entity but were unable to reach a final agreement.

HMI is presently in discussions with potential new licensees for the Japanese edition of Harper's Bazaar.
