FLEE Lands in Evanston to Open a New Store

Fashion and Function Merge Practicality for Busy Women "On The Fly"

EVANSTON, Ill., Nov. 10, 2010 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Running to make a flight, juggling schedules, racing to Pilates and still finding time for family … busy women no longer need to abandon style for practicality. By reinventing the use of oilcloth – a lightweight, durable and water-repellent fabric most commonly known for vintage tablecloths – FLEE bags flaunt fun and function for gals of all ages – for work, play and travel.

FLEE founder, Suzanne Robin, is a gal on the go. After years of a busy routine in advertising and sales, her carry-alls just couldn't keep up; she was continuously in need of replacements to lug her loot. In 2003, she designed and launched FLEE – born of necessity to suit her scurried pace and named for the verb, to flee – for women with active lifestyles.

"We opened our first store in Newton, MA, in 2003, and it was successful beyond our dreams," says Suzanne. "We are thrilled to open our new shop in Evanston, and are looking forward to being a strong member of the community and to connecting with busy women on the fly!"

The FLEE collection of signature totes and handbags, backpacks, laptop and diaper bags, soft coolers, cosmetic bags, placemats, tablecloths and splat mats can be purchased at select retailers around the country and online at www.fleebags.com.

Ribbon-Cutting Ceremony

On Saturday, November 20th at 1 p.m., Evanston's Mayor Elizabeth Tisdahl will show her support for small business owners and the downtown retail district by attending FLEE's grand opening, which will include a ribbon and cake cutting ceremony.

FLEE, located at 1106 Davis Street in Evanston, will be open for holiday shopping daily, Monday through Friday, 10–6, Saturday 10–5 and Sunday 11–4.
