Worksite Wellness Council of Massachusetts Is Founded; Nonprofit Promotes Healthier Lifestyles for All Employees

First Meeting, March 4, Burlington, MA


BOSTON, MA--(Marketwire - February 15, 2011) - The Worksite Wellness Council of Massachusetts, a nonprofit dedicated to promoting healthier lifestyles for all employees of Massachusetts through health promotion activities at the worksite, was recently founded. WWCMA membership is open to Massachusetts health-promotion professionals and business leaders.

WWCMA (http://wwcma.org) aims to promote worksite wellness within the business community, facilitate communication and networking for worksite health promotion professionals, provide tools and resources to help make worksite wellness programs grow and succeed, and represent health promotion professionals as a common voice on professional matters.

The organization's seven co-founders are:

WWCMA will hold its kickoff meeting on Friday, March 4, from 7:30 AM to 9:00 AM in Burlington, Mass. There will be an overview of the WWCMA's organization and vision, and the Massachusetts Department of Public Health will present its "Working on Wellness" program.
