FAIR LAWN, N.J., April 26, 2011 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Sandvik Coromant, the market leading producer of cutting tools, announces its technical sponsorship of National Hot Rod Association (NHRA) champion, Don Schumacher Racing (DSR). DSR based in Brownsburg, Ind., fields teams in two NHRA nitro categories, including three Top Fuel dragster teams and four Funny Car teams.
As part of the two year agreement, Sandvik Coromant will provide strategic tooling solutions and technical training to DSR's staff. Sandvik Coromant and DSR programmers and operators are working together to reduce component processing time with tooling provided by Sandvik Coromant.
The first tooling solutions recommended by Sandvik Coromant was the CoroMill® 790 shoulder milling cutter for non-ferrous materials, designed for high security demands and high precision work. Additionally, the CoroMill® Century has already been implemented at the DSR facility. The CoroMill Century face mill for non-ferrous materials is a light weight aluminum body cutter. It is also available in durable steel bodies for high speed machining.
