Riverside Police Department Upgrades to Nixle Connect to Keep Residents Informed

Department Implements Enhanced Free Messaging and Notification Service


RIVERSIDE, IL--(Marketwire - Jan 23, 2012) - Riverside Police Department announced it has upgraded its Nixle service to the new free public notification service, Nixle Connect, to deliver important and timely information to residents. With no cost to the department, taxpayers, or residents, the new Nixle Connect is a cost-effective solution for public safety agencies throughout the country.

A user of Nixle since 2008, the Riverside Police is now using the upgraded Nixle Connect service, which launched this past summer, to communicate with the public via text/SMS, e-mail, and Internet posts at no cost. Communications range from emergency alerts to routine day-to-day information including traffic and missing persons reports, safety tips, crime information, community outreach programs and other public safety information.
