The Banker: OP - Bank of the Year in Finland

The Banker, the international finance magazine, has chosen OP as Bank of the Year in Finland. This is the 8th time OP receives the award.

The Banker has been giving out awards to banks operating in Finland since 2000. Before this, OP has been chosen Bank of the Year in 2003, 2004, 2006, 2007, 2008, 2010 and 2011.

The purpose is to highlight the best players in the sector. The jury will pick out the best banks from over 1,000 applications. The winners are those that have been the most successful in improving their business within the past year. The award is presented in 120 countries.

The winners were announced last night in London.

"The award presented by Banker is acknowledgement of OP's good achievements in a number of fields. We have continuously improved our profitability while at the same time achieving good growth and continuing on a reform path with determination. A return to being fully owned by our customers, structural changes to the Central Cooperative, property development of the Vallila block, strong investments in product and service development and modern new business operations and services such as Omasairaala hospital and Pivo witness of a financial group that looks ahead and wants to reform the sector and to be in the forefront to take Finland towards a new economic upswing," says Chief Strategy Officer Tom Dahlström.

The Banker is an esteemed banking and finance magazine read in over 180 countries. Established in 1926, it is owned by The Financial Times Ltd.
