Steve Edds and Sue Fairbank Join Butler Snow in Ridgeland


RIDGELAND, Miss., Aug. 02, 2016 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Butler Snow is pleased to announce Steve Edds and Sue Hicks Fairbank have joined the firm’s public finance group.

Edds’ practice focuses on government finance, economic development incentives and government relations. He works closely with governments in developing business incentive programs and also with a number of nationwide banks and investment banks. In recent years he has served as lead counsel on more than $10 billion of government debt issuance.  He is a contributor to The Issuer's Guide to Tax Exempt Financing and has extensive experience serving as bond, special tax, underwriter's, issuer's, trustee's and credit enhancer's counsel. He is a past editor of Barrister Magazine. Edds has been recognized in The Best Lawyers in America® for public finance law, project finance law and government relations practice since 2005 and was also recognized in the area of economic development law in 2016. He has been recognized in Chambers USA America’s Leading Business Lawyers as a leading corporate/commercial municipal finance lawyer in Mississippi since 2007 and has also been consistently recognized by Mid-South Super Lawyers.

Edds has served as director of the American Judicature Society and is a fellow of the American Bar Foundation. He received both his undergraduate degree and Juris Doctor from the University of Mississippi.

Fairbank has also worked extensively in all types of revenue bond and general purpose government financings, representing parties from every aspect of the financing.
