OTTAWA, ONTARIO--(Marketwired - Nov. 18, 2016) - Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council (SSHRC)
Media representatives are invited to attend SSHRC's Impact Awards ceremony where the 2016 Impact Awards winners will be announced, including the recipient of the prestigious Gold Medal-SSHRC's highest research honour worth $100,000 in research money.
The annual Impact Awards recognize outstanding researchers and celebrate their achievements in research, research training, knowledge mobilization and outreach activities. This year's emcee is Andrew Potter, director of the McGill Institute for the Study of Canada, and former editor of the Ottawa Citizen.
Greg Fergus, Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister of Innovation, Science and Economic Development, will present the Gold Medal alongside Ted Hewitt, SSHRC's president.
Media availability and photo opportunities will take place following the announcement.
