Devine Chiropractic Hosts a Fermentation Class on June 27

Fermentation Class, Devine Chiropractic, 8225 SW Apple Way, Portland, OR 97225, Tuesday, June 27th at 6 pm, cost $20.

PORTLAND, Ore., June 23, 2017 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Devine Chiropractic, a Chiropractic Clinic, and Family Wellness Center specializing in a holistic approach to chiropractic care announced that they are hosting a fermentation class later in June. They welcome residents from Portland, Beaverton, Raleigh Hills, and the surrounding communities of Oregon.

As a way to embrace and further the recent revival of culinary traditions, Devine Chiropractic is hosting a fermentation class for anyone and everyone interested in making cultured food in their own home.  Fermented foods go through the process of lacto fermentation in which bacteria break down the sugars and starches in the food to create lactic acid.  Not only are these foods incredible for digestive health because of probiotic content, but they are also higher in some nutrients, and easier to digest and assimilate. Devine Chiropractic’s Wellness Coordinator and resident Holistic Nutritionist Jodi Franken says, “Fermenting is economical, fun, and delicious. Current typical American fare is devoid of most healthy nutrients. Incorporating fermented food into your diet is an easy way to boost health naturally. Your grandmother knew what she was doing!”

This class is for anyone, from the health-conscious hipster to the ardent homesteader and everyone in between. There is a $20 charge for supplies. Attendees will leave with recipes, Mason jar, fermentation lid, and fermenting weight; everything needed to get started at home. This class filled up fast, but they are proud to offer weekly classes like this one! Click here to view the full summer class schedule.
