The Company adopted a decision to liquidate UAB VAE SPB; by appointing the interim CEO of the subsidiary as its liquidator. The decision to liquidate UAB VAE SPB has been approved by the written consent of the Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Lithuania, which is the institution to implement the Company shareholder rights.
Whereas UAB VAE SPB is no longer carrying out any commercial activities, the settlement with the creditors and the liquidation procedures are expected to be completed within no later than six months of the decision date.
The decision to terminate the activities of the company was adopted with a reference to the draft National Energy Independence Strategy (NEIS) submitted to the Seimas. The NEIS draft proposes to prioritise the development of renewable energy resources, and does not contain any provisions or objectives related to the implementation of the new nuclear power plant project.
