The Historic Fort Harrison Celebrates a Mother’s Love

CLEARWATER, Fla., May 17, 2018 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- On Saturday, May 12, the Church of Scientology Flag Service Organization hosted the Stone Square Masonic Lodge No. 42’s 2nd Annual Mother’s Day Celebration in the historical Fort Harrison located in downtown Clearwater. Over 240 guests attended the event to honor the women who have given the gift of “life” to their children.

The Stone Square Masonic Lodge No. 42 is a voluntary, fraternal organization, composed of men of good will and character; it strives for truth, moral rectitude, and spiritual values. Their focus is to be of service to all mankind.

Each mother in attendance was presented with a single red rose on her arrival as a symbol of love. MC Reverend Gregory Dunton, Past Master of the Stone Square Masonic Lodge No. 42, welcomed the guests and blessed the food.

In commemoration of the day, several honored guests spoke. One such guest, High Priest Bobby Byrd acknowledged the purpose of the event saying, “this is the day for mothers; for all the love and help they give to their families.”

Sister Barbara J. Brown-Coulton, Past Most Ancient Matron of the United Grand Courts Heroines of Jericho (a state-level women’s masonic lodge), spoke about the day; reminding the audience to always appreciate their mothers and show an attitude of gratitude towards them. “There’s no love like a mother’s love,” said Sister Barbara.

Brother Jay Robinson, Senior Deacon of the Lodge, recited a poem he had written specially for the evening. Final remarks were made by the Lodge’s Worship Master, Gerald R. Vickers, who reiterated the importance of women and their great contribution to society.

The evening ended with a performance by the Flag Band which got mothers, grandmothers, children and spouses alike out on the dance floor to have a good time.
