BEIJING, June 19, 2018 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Baidu, Inc. (NASDAQ:BIDU) has announced that Baidu Create 2018, the company’s annual artificial intelligence (AI) developer conference, will be held on July 4th and 5th at the China National Convention Center in Beijing. It is anticipated that thousands of developers and partners from around the world will join Baidu at the event to discuss leading-edge AI technologies and the growth of Baidu’s open AI ecosystem over the past year.
Building off the success of the inaugural Baidu Create in 2017, this year’s conference will be held over two days with a main forum and different sub-forums. Robin Li, Baidu Co-Founder, Chairman and CEO; Ya-Qin Zhang, Baidu President; Haifeng Wang, Senior Vice President and Head of AI Group, and other Baidu senior executives will deliver keynote speeches introducing the latest developments to the company’s key businesses and technologies. At Create 2018, attendees can look forward to the releases of the latest iterations of both Apollo, Baidu’s open autonomous driving platform, and DuerOS, Baidu’s conversational AI system, as well as the launch of Baidu’s Smart Mini Programs.
The Create 2018 sub-forums will cover a range of topics, including Baidu Brain, Smart Mini Programs, Smart Living, Smart Driving, Smart Cloud & IoT and Smart Finance. Additionally, Baidu has organized over 20 interactive open courses where attendees can engage with Baidu engineers who will be providing deep dives into the company’s developments of technologies and platforms like the PaddlePaddle open source deep learning framework, face recognition, the latest iterations of Apollo and DuerOS, safety practices in autonomous driving vehicles and many more.
Last year, Baidu Create brought together more than 6,500 participants to witness the announcement of the company’s open AI ecosystem and a showcase of two of the company’s open platforms - Apollo and DuerOS - and their roadmaps for the future of intelligent driving and conversational AI. In just one year after its inception, Apollo has gathered over 100 global partners and obtained permits for road testing in places like Beijing, Fujian, and Chongqing. DuerOS is now working with over 200 companies and brands, and has been integrated into more than 100 smart devices.
