Fallenash Announces Endorsement Deal with 7drums Custom Drums

The endorsement involves the band as a whole, as well as individual endorsements for two band members.

AUSTIN, Texas, Nov. 13, 2018 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Austin, TX-based indie-rock band, Fallenash, is excited to announce an endorsement deal & partnership with 7drums. Following the release of their well-received and independently-produced debut album, The Backyard Symphony (2015), the band has played for crowds in and around their home state of Texas, performed several benefit concerts, and immediately started composing new songs. Fallenash’s catalogue of unreleased songs is vast, but can be found online and all over the web. They are also currently working on a follow-up studio album for release in 2019.

Fallenash signed the endorsement deal with 7drums founder, Ricky Reyes and 7drums head of operations, David Avila on November 6, 2018. When asked about the endorsement deal and why this deal makes sense for the band, Fallenash front man and singer-songwriter, Khris Thayer replied with his often sarcastic and typical Texan flare:

“How much time do you have? Cause I got a hell of a story to tell and this article will damn near write itself!”

Thayer continued to say:

“Timing is everything! (pun intended) Just ask any drummer. Seriously though, it has simply been the perfect storm of change for us this year as individual musicians and as a band. As any band that has been around for a while will tell you, a band’s lifecycle is evolutionary and ever-changing. Life happens to us all; the lineup can change due to the personal lives and desires of each individual band member, band processes evolve based on the needs of each member, and so on. I say that, only to say this. Serendipity brought this partnership with 7drums together for us in a completely organic and unexpected way for all involved. Our original drummer had recently left the band in order to pursue other projects and spend more time with family. l had taken a bit of a hiatus myself after my wife became pregnant with our daughter, Rivers Jordan Thayer, due to arrive in January 2019. We just had a lot of change happening all at once. The same day we announced there would be a shift in the band lineup with our drummer leaving, one of my dear friends, Steven Stacy, who also happens to be one of the best drummers that I have known over the past 20 years, hit me up and volunteered his talents to the Fallenash project. Steven is also a long-time friend of our bassist, Kevin Mitchell, and a newer yet very familiar friend and music colleague to our lead guitarist, Dave Erickson…we were all just stoked at how things worked out and to welcome Steven as the new drummer for Fallenash.

"Shortly thereafter, I had reached out to Ricky (owner and founder of 7drums), who I first met randomly in early 2015, at a bar in a very small Texas town I was passing through while tracking The Backyard Symphony album. We talked music, he told me about his drum company…I think he had told me that he had just endorsed Randy Rogers or something along those lines and the craftsmanship of his drums in the pictures that he showed me was just plain gorgeous. I told him about the album I was working on, we had a few beers, and went our separate ways. While we were leaving, I told Ricky, ‘Hey man…if I ever need a kit in the future, I’ll look you up!’  He laughed, gave me the thumbs up, and off we went.”

Thayer then adds:

“Little known fact about me for our fans or anyone who reads this… My birthday is 7/7/77.  So, like I said before… Serendipity. I called Ricky, unsure if he’d even remember me, but he did! He connected me with his head of operations, David, and we just started talking about Fallenash and what we’re up to these days and David told me about 7drums and all the good things that have happened since their launch. We shared a few laughs over the phone and then David and Ricky hit me up to let me know that they listened to our music and that they were both now fans of the band. They also talked about coming over to visit my property in Austin and to check out the 1,200 square foot private music and production studio that I’ve been tooling up in my backyard over the last few years for future Fallenash and solo releases. After 4 hours of hanging out, going to dinner, having some laughs and getting to know each other, it just made sense that we work together.”

Thayer ended his story with:

“7drums not only builds the best sounding drums that I’ve ever played, but also the best-looking drums in my opinion. Patented design and assembly. They just sound incredible!”

In addition to a full-band endorsement partnership between 7drums and Fallenash, 7drums also offered exclusive individual endorsements to Fallenash drummer - Steven Stacy and front man, Khris Thayer, who is also an accomplished drummer.

The endorsement partnerships between 7drums, Fallenash, Steven Stacy, and Khris Thayer seem to be one of those very rare instances in the world of music, where fate and a symbiotic meeting of the minds creates the perfect recipe for a successful and collaborative venture in spite of the band’s recent “perfect storm of change”, as Thayer describes it.

Safe to say, Fallenash’s formula for success appears to be working out well for them and those that they work with. They play whenever they want, with whoever they want, and wherever they want. While we know that this doesn’t work for every indie band out there (or even signed artists for that matter), it shows an interesting and refreshing potential trend in the music industry for unsigned, original, indie rock bands who enjoy sharing their message and their passion on their own terms.

Fallenash is currently working on a new album, Pool Canyon EP, set to be released in 2019, along with several other songs that will be individually released as singles late in 2019 and beyond. The band’s focus will be primarily on their creative process and exploring production opportunities with the team at 7drums. They will also be playing in select music festival showcases and appearing as special guests or the supporting act for various touring bands passing through Austin and other Texas cities.
