U.S. Submergent is a Top 50 Florida Company To Watch

SARASOTA, Fla., Dec. 11, 2018 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- U.S. Submergent Technologies® (USST) is pleased to be among the top 50 Florida Companies to WatchSM. From a group of over 500 nominees, USST was selected by GrowFL, an economic development group focused on helping second-stage growth companies succeed. An innovator in the wastewater industry, USST is the only company in its category to be recognized.

Specializing in the submergent cleaning of hard-to-reach environments, USST stands alone as the only company to offer the unique and highly-efficient service of waste and debris removal from wet infrastructure. USST’s management team, competitive market position and strong community involvement were among several factors that put the seven-year old company in contention for the award.

“These stand-out companies,” said Dr. Tom O’Neal, GrowFL Executive Director, “are all led by entrepreneurs and have demonstrated their capacity and intent to grow. They also all have critical intellectual property or a niche position that gives them a competitive edge in their markets.”

The statewide competition aims to recognize second-stage companies that show steady growth in both revenue and employee counts, innovation in leadership and technology, demonstrate community support, have a strong corporate culture and other factors. Collectively, the companies generated nearly $1 billion in revenue and added nearly 1,000 jobs between 2014 and 2017.

“We are thrilled and humbled to have been selected as a Florida Company to Watch and it is a privilege to share this honor with 49 prestigious companies,” said Denver Stutler Jr., USST CEO. “Our unique, patented Combination truck is the only technology of its kind, and coupled with our entire USST team, we stand ready to solve problems for our customers by restoring the capacity of wet infrastructure.”

While there are many programs available to assist in the promotion of start-up businesses, GrowFL is the only Florida program that focuses exclusively on second-stage companies. Together, the 50 Companies to WatchSM project saw a 50 percent increase in revenue and 40 percent increase in job growth in 2018 compared to 2017. All are expected to see continued significant future growth.

“Our Florida base of operations serves as a business model for future branch growth,” said Stutler. “Florida has a growing population with increasing demand on an already aging infrastructure, a perfect fit for our services.”

The 50 companies will be officially recognized February 9, 2019, at the 8th Annual GrowFL Florida Companies to Watch event to be held at the Straz Center in Tampa, Florida.

About U.S. Submergent Technologies:
Founded in 2011, U.S. Submergent Technologies® (USST) is the premier service provider for restoring the capacity of wet infrastructure. USST specializes in submergent cleaning from hard-to-clean environments such as tanks and pipes from the following industries: wastewater and stormwater, oil and gas, shipyards, power plants and more.

USST developed the Combination³® Truck to function as a standalone cleaning system, powerful and versatile enough to remove accumulated sand, grit and rag material from a variety of submerged conditions. The unique, GritGone Process® generates paint-filter dry sand, ready for disposal, while facilities remain in full operation, meaning no need for bypass pumping.

The proprietary capacity restoration services of USST help utilities and companies extend the life of their infrastructure and increase efficiencies, saving time, energy and money, while limiting the need for confined space entry.

With headquarters in Sarasota, Florida and operations based out of Central Florida, USST is positioned to best service its customers across all areas of the state.  For more information, visit ussubmergent.com.
