François Faelli Appointed to Lead Bain & Company’s Global Consumer Products Practice

NEW YORK, Dec. 18, 2018 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Bain & Company has appointed François Faelli to lead its global Consumer Products practice. Manny Maceda, the firm’s Worldwide Managing Partner, announced his recent appointment.  François will continue to be based in Bain & Company’s Brussels office.

François has more than two decades of management consulting experience.  For the last four years, he has led Bain’s Consumer Products practice in EMEA, growing it in excess of 20 percent per annum to double in size.

“We are thrilled to have François at the helm of our global Consumer Products practice,” said Mr. Maceda.  “He is a respected leader in the consumer products industry and across our firm, with a proven track record for helping major global brands act like insurgents, increase profits, and build sustained value amid a volatile economic and competitive environment.”

In his new role, François will work with the world’s leading consumer products companies, leading affiliated Bain partners across all geographies and consumer sectors.  His focus will include doubling down on the largest global consumer markets – China, India, Europe and the U.S.; supporting large consumer products companies in simultaneously transforming their sales, marketing, manufacturing and talent engines through digital; building the most innovative ecosystem of best-in-breed external partners to redefine Bain’s offering for the future winners in consumer products; and helping global brands intensify their sustainability efforts and expand their of value creation beyond financial profit to consider society more broadly.

“In recent years, global consumer product giants have seen their scale advantages slowly unravel,” said Mr. Faelli.  “I am eager to work with a talented team of Bain partners and consultants to help major brands around the world get back on their front foot to win, reinvent advantages of scale, and reignite growth.”

François works with senior executives and management teams throughout Europe, Asia, North America, and Australia to address their most pressing strategic issues. Over the course of his time at Bain, he has acquired deep expertise in strategy across a broad range of consumer products categories and has led multiple large, global transformation programs, especially in merger integration, organization, and growth acceleration.

In recent years, François has focused on the theme of “tectonic shifts” in global retail and their implications on consumer products companies. He has led or co-authored recent studies, including Overcoming the Existential Crisis in Consumer Goods, How Brands Can Prepare for European Retailing's Tectonic Shifts, How Big Brands Can Prepare for US Grocery's Tectonic Shifts, and How Brands Can Get Ahead of China’s Tectonic Shifts in Grocery Retail.

François earned a Master's degree in business and economics, graduating summa cum laude from the Solvay Business School in Belgium, where he has been a professor of strategy since 2013.
