Nokia delivers TETRA network solution to Tunisian TV broadcaster L'Office National de Télédiffusion


Nokia is providing a nationwide TETRA professional mobile radio system with end-to-end IP data functionality network to Tunisian TV broadcaster L'Office National de Télédiffusion (ONT), the country's sole TETRA licence holder.
 
The deal represents a nationwide expansion of the ONT's existing TETRA network in Tunis, also supplied by Nokia. Deliveries have already begun and the system is expected to be operational by the end of 2002.
 
ONT is the national TV broadcaster in Tunisia and diversified into the TETRA market to support the 2001 Mediteranean Games which were held in the city. The TETRA services have been used since then by several kinds of professional users such as transportation and utilities.
